Subject: Insomnia or?

What is the difference between insomnia and unwillingness to sleep?

Which one exist in bipolar disorder?

Answer from DepNet

Insomnia may have many causes - such as stress, anxiety, pain and bad sleep habits. People who are unwilling to sleep because they are busy doing things - such as worrying, tidying the house, or even exercising - may also suffer from insomnia. In other words, anything that causes you have less sleep, or poorer quality of sleep, than you actually need - can cause insomnia.

Patients with Bipolar Disorder often have poor sleep because of mood changes. They may be unwilling to sleep during the manic phase, or suffer from anxiety and worry during the depressed phase.
