SINGAPORE: About 500 people from all walks of life have volunteered to part with their locks and curls to raise money and awareness for children with cancer.
Going bald is a symbolic gesture of understanding for the ordeal that a cancer patient faces when undergoing treatment.
According to the Children's Cancer Foundation, which organised the Hair For Hope event at Velocity@Novena Square on Sunday, about 120 new cases of childhood cancer are reported each year.
