SINGAPORE: Local doctors have developed a new information portal to help users manage Childhood Anxiety and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
A robot will take you through an interactive website to help parents, caregivers and children understand and detect ADHD and childhood anxiety.
Users get to play as characters "Roc" and "Ash," and children with such disorders can use them to learn more about how to manage their condition.
The Institute of Mental Health developed the website also to help caregivers look for early signs and seek the right treatment for the child.
It is estimated that the five to 10 per cent of children who suffer from ADHD or anxiety disorders here, can benefit from this.
Associate Professor Daniel Fung, senior consultant psychiatrist, Institute of Mental Health, said: "What we would like to see in this website is to really go to the community to make this available to as many people as possible in Singapore and to help children with emotional behavioural disorders well before they become a large and huge, clinically problematic issue."
