Retrenchment Benefits

If you have had three years' continuous service with your employer, you may claim for benefits if you are retrenched. The amount is to be negotiated between you and your employer, unless it is provided for in the contract of service.

 

If you are financially strained as a result of unemployment, you can contact your Community Development Council for help. They have a variety of assistance schemes including the Public Assistance Scheme and the Self-Reliance Programme, to help tide you through this difficult period. If you need some help looking for a new job, you may also get help under the Work Assistance Programme.
