I want to let you people out there know my story. I have learnt my lesson in not changing medication when it works well. Recently, I replaced sodium valproate with topomax and it caused me a lot of problems. I had suicidal thoughts and was experiencing down moments all the time until I did not sleep for two weeks and it triggered my relapse. I was warded in NUH for 3 weeks and now I have come back to work. The reason why I replaced sodium valproate was because it was making me put on weight but I did not realise it was going to cause me more problems by changing the medicine.Now I am back to using haloperidol and sodium valproate.
